Little Bit of Luck Rescue was started Jan 26 2024 by Jocelyn Fall and her family. Jocelyn has been rescuing and assisting other rescues since 2012 after losing her own pup Luckey. She is the heart and soul of LBL Rescue along with her children and a select few volunteers and fosters. She is committed to choosing quality over quantity for the animals in care. And focusing on educating and assisting homes to assure a lifelong placement for all animals that come through. Jocelyn not only takes care of the majority of the animals in care but also hand makes a variety of items we sell to help cover vet bills and the needs of the animals in care.
In September 2024 Jagvir Sandhu joined LBL as vice president. Jag was born in Edmonton and raised/grew up in Calgary and Ponoka with one older sibling. When living in Calgary, her parents would regularly take her to dog shows and that is where her love for animals began. At a very young age, with the help of her parents and older brother, she would help babysit pets for neighbours and as she got older, she started doing it herself and more frequently. After completing high school in Ponoka, she went to Red Deer College to become a paralegal, but ended up getting in financing for over 4 years. She always kept a bag of dog treats in her desk for the customers that would bring their dogs into the bank. As much as she loved her job, coworkers and clients, she did not feel like she was doing what she was meant to be doing and switched careers to insurance for about a year and half. During that time she met a vet tech that she became friends with and was told by her to apply at her vet clinic. Of course Jag jumped in joy as she applied right away! She was offered a position at a local vet clinic as a vet tech assistant where they did animals of all sizes. (Including dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, pigs, birds, reptiles, and everything else you can think of) This vet clinic also worked with Saving Grace Animal Society with their spays/neutering, all medical care and emergencies. Not long after she started to foster medical dogs/puppies at home with the help of her rescue dog, Molly and family. She decided that she wanted to go back to school to become a vet tech as she finally found her calling! Currently she lives in Leduc with her 2 rescue dogs, 2 cats and 1 Hermann tortoises and works at Millwoods East Veterinary Clinic while continuing education in animal wellness and spending the rest of her free time helping Jocelyn with Little Bit of Luck Rescue.
About Me.
My name is Jocelyn and I have been rescuing and helping other rescues for about 15 years now. Back in January I finally took the plunge and started my own rescue which has been a dream and goal of mine since 2012 when I'd lost my first ever pup due to a tragic circumstance. It was June 20th 2012 that I vowed to start my own rescue and to help fight animal abuse and neglect and to promote animal welfare. I wanted to be the voice for animals all around and one day I hope to find a way to get animal welfare laws changed so people that hurt and abandon animals finally recieve the consequences they deserve.
But for now we are still a small start up so all pirate focus is in the animals we have helped so far. All animals in care are primarily taken care of by me with my little minions right by my side. We have had a couple amazing fosters and hope to one day have more so that we can continue to help more and more animals of all shapes and sizes. We are also starting to build relationships with other amazing rescues and organizations to work together toward a similar goal. You will frequently see me sharing their posts, fundraisers and pets in need while they do the same for me so that we can join forces and reach a farther audience to help all the animals we can.
Our goal is not to be a big rescue but a quality rescue so that every animal that come through our doors feels loved and recieves the individual care it needs.
